My dear friends thank you for your kind words,

I have some great news. I have been honored by ReelArt Studios to be the paint master for "The Silver Warrior," which in my opinion is one of the crown jewels of the legendry master's work.

I am proud to be coupled with master sculptor Tony Cipriano on this project. "The Silver Warrior" is a magnificent work of art. It is reminiscent of a Teutonic knight and a Viking warrior all wrapped up in one representing the spirit of winter and the beast of winter symbolized by the polar bears!

We will also be working very closely with the Frazetta's to make sure no stone is left unturned on this project.

Tony and I are both very excited and passionate about this project and intend to do our very best to bring this iconic work of art by the master to life!

The WIP progress from Tony will be available soon, as the work is developed.

Stay tuned,

Alex (Trismegistus)

I am very curious how Tony will handle the Bears!! Some years ago, I have seen a scratch of this Painting in and french figure modelling, done in 54mm, when I remember correct.

This new project will be outstanding, I think! Please keep us informed!

Frank

Dear Frank,

I have Tony Cipriano personnel assurance that no stone will be left unturned in fact some parts are to cased in wax for finer detailing, he will be given this piece his very best as he views the Silver Warrior one of his most important piece to date.

For me this ia honor for a few reasons one is that I love the painting and for as long as remember admired it. This would be for some miniature painters a career maker even paint masters have offered to paint it for free. I also feel that Dark Horse and Reel Art will go all out to prompt this piece “the word Masterpiece is all ready in the air”

That being said:
Issues that need to be addressed and resolved; texture of the snow and how to paint correctly.
The snow must look soft with tracks and splash effect and not like plaster and be painted with the correct color values that will absorb and reflect light correctly and finally it must look like the painting from the master.

Frank I will certainly post a full work in progress on this forum for the membership and as soon as Tony gives me permission to post his WIP pictures of the sculptor I will do so.

Stay tune ,

Best regards,

Alex (Trismegistus)

P.S. if you look carefully you can see the bears to the left of the photo!

Way cool, Alex, i am VERY curious! Speaking of plaster, some years ago I have seen a small diorama with an AMT Imperial Walker Kit (Star Wars). The Builder (I mean Jeff Polizotto) did ths snow work with plaster of paris, and it looked very realistic: heavy and "snowlike", he even scratched the detailing beneth the feet to make good looking footsteps.

Those Bears will be a dream come true when sculpted in a good manner, because of the fur and hairy details. Having seen the Frostgiants and read the Randy Bowen Article in AFM about sculpting and coming-to-life of the Deathdealer I guess, this will be another Masterpiece of Franks (hehe, "Frank!") work!

Frank
